Amelia Hanley is a character whose legacy plays a large role in the story Jacinta.
Amelia was born in 1969 in Brighton on the south coast of England. In the early 1990s, she fell in love with and married a man named Michael, with whom she would have one child, a boy named Jason. However, tragedy struck at the start of 2002 when Amelia was diagnosed with terminal cancer. The disease would take her life in the June of that year, devastating her husband and her young son.
After her death, Amelia's body was cremated, and her ashes were placed in an urn by the fireplace in their home, always within arm's reach of where Mike was sat.
